The Introvert's Day Spa is a new idea for me, but one that greatly appeals- to me and to more than a few others, I suspect!
A hallmark of introverts of all degrees is the need for downtime, for space to recharge and renew our souls. Sometimes, though, my downtime isn't exactly refreshing. There are days when sitting on my couch with NCIS reruns is perfect, and days when I. Just. Can't. Stop. Watching. - even though I have plenty to do, like dishes and laundry! Then I go to bed feeling frustrated and very un-refreshed. This is my new favorite non-chore to enjoy on my just-staying-in days.
We know that time spent on yourself is a very effective way to honor introversion. So shut off Netflix, YouTube, and all the other rabbit holes taking up your free time and spend an hour pampering yourself instead. Your skin will be smooth, you will glow with an ethereal light, and your soul will be joyous and ready to take on the world.
DIY Microderm Abrasion
1 large tablespoon Baking Soda
1-3 drops Carrot Seed essential oil, optional
3-5 drops Lavender essential oil, optional
Blend together in a glass or ceramic bowl- wood or plastic will absorb oils. When you have a smooth paste, gently apply to skin.
Exfoliate your face at the bathroom mirror, avoiding extra delicate eye and lip skin.
Then step into your shower or tub and exfoliate arms and legs. If your shower is like mine, carefully step back out, being sure not to slip, and start your shower water. Once water temperature is adjusted, re-enter and shower away.
The floor will be SLIPPERY so move carefully, and consider bringing a scrub brush with you. Once you've washed off your coconut oil/baking soda, take a minute with a squirt of soap to scrub the floor and the soles of your feet.
Voila! Your skin is baby-butt-smooth, your shower is clean, and you're ready to take on anything. Happy day, Beautiful Introvert!
